The benefits of training, even if health is not self-evident

Bart Rovers owns Happy Bodies in Eindhoven. Bart firmly believes that health and freedom go hand in hand. The profit is huge and it doesn't have to take much time at all. How that works, he explains in this blog.

Work on your health in little time

I have been active in the sports world for 25 years. Originally trained as an exercise goggle, my passion is improving the triangle of sport, health and wellness. Somewhere in that journey I came into contact with the Milon Circle. I was a fan from day one: working on your health by training for 35 minutes twice every ten days, isn't that great? I am convinced that health and freedom go hand in hand. After all, if you can do what you want to do every day, then you have optimal freedom. Whether it's about being able to perform your work comfortably or being able to go out with your grandchildren as a grandmother, health and vitality determine how easy it is for you.

Sports for everyone

The concept of Happy Bodies is unique and is completely in line with how my partner Johan and I look at sports and health. Personal contact and sincere attention are central to every Happy Bodies establishment. Employees are also given the space to develop and deepen their knowledge. For example, we have many specialized people at Happy Bodies in Eindhoven. Think of exercise counselors, a nutritionist, an oncological specialist, a physiotherapeutic coach and someone who specializes in cardiac rehabilitation. It's a place where anyone can train, people who are not completely healthy - such as cancer, obesity, rheumatism, diabetes or corona - can also come to us.

Better in, better out

Research shows, for example, that if you start a treatment against cancer fitter, there is a good chance that you will also come out fitter. Better in, better out, we call it. It also improves your quality of life during the treatments. Of course you shouldn't just start training. But if you have permission from your treating doctor, a fitness trainer specialized in oncology can add a lot of value to your life. Such a specialized trainer knows better than anyone the side effects and challenges you can face and can offer a tailor-made fitness program. It's fantastic to see that people who struggle with their health also walk out of our club with a big smile. I love to jump out of bed every morning for that.

Save on healthcare costs

Of course, the added value of a personalized training plan does not only apply to people with poor health. There is another very good reason to get started. Regular exercise improves your immune system. As a result, you can reduce the risk of a chronic disease and death from it by more than thirty percent. If you consider the government 5 billion in healthcare costs want to save, I see a nice role for our lifestyle clubs.
